Authors
abstract
aisi 4340 steel is one of the super strong steels that can be selected for different applications. by designing theproper cycles of heat treatment, the optimum microstructure and properties of this steel can be achieved. in thisstudy, different heat treatment cycles were introduced to achieve the optimum microstructure and improve themechanical and magnetic properties of aisi 4340 steel. the results of tensile, impact, hardness, metallographyand magnetic tests for various samples under different heat treatment cycles showed that parameters such astemperature and time of austenitizing and tempering were among the most important factors in achieving relativelya wide range of ultimate tensile strength (1467-933 mpa), impact energy (113-18 j), transport current density(1554-1347 mt), coercivity (1342-1240 a/m), diminished force (1165.6-947.5 mj/kg) and microstructure(tempered martensite and bainite). this wide range of properties can lead to a large number of applications of thistype of steel in various industries including manufacturing steel parts such as rotors.

Effect of Heat Treatment on Microstructure, Magnetic and Mechanical Properties of HSLA-100
In this study, the effects of various heat treatments on microstructure, mechanical and magnetic properties of HSLA-100 steel were evaluated. The heat treatments consisted of austenitizing at 900°C for 60 minutes, then quenching by different cooling rates via furnace, air, oil and water; and quenched specimens were aged at 600°C for one hour. Optical and field emission scanning electron m...

The effects of high temperature homogenization and low temperature annealing treatments on the microstructure and magnetic properties of sintered magnets of an Nd17Fe76.5B5Cu1.5 type alloy have been investigated. The microstructure of the as-cast alloy, consisted of three phases including a Nd2Fe14B1 (2:14:1- type) matrix phase Cu-containing Nd-rich Phase and Free α-iron. The as-sintered magnet...
